Amphitheatre at Kvabtkari
Ambrolauri
The amphitheatre brings together aesthetics, function and a harmonious fit with its setting. It stands in Ambrolauri, on the area known as Kvabtkari, and is intended for public gatherings, cultural events and performances.
The architecture rests on organic forms and flowing lines that answer the natural landscape. Curved tiers step down towards the stage, giving good sightlines, comfortable seating and favourable acoustics.
The project uses natural, durable materials, among them local stone, which ties the structure to its surroundings and to the identity of Racha. Materials were chosen for their appearance as much as for sustainability and long service life. The amphitheatre thus becomes a contemporary, multi-purpose public space where architecture, nature and cultural use form one harmonious whole.
