Giorgi Maisuradze Village History Museum
Vachnadziani, Gurjaani Municipality
The rehabilitation of the Giorgi Maisuradze Village History Museum aims to preserve the historic appearance and architectural value of this listed monument, to renew its function and to adapt it to the needs of a contemporary museum. The project protects the authentic character of the existing building and brings out its historical significance.
The concept is a careful union of historic architecture and present-day requirements. The symmetrical facade, decorative elements, columns, arched forms and ornamental balustrades that define the building’s identity are retained. The light facade and restored details underline its historic character, while the wide balcony and central stair form the main architectural accent and reinforce its public role.
The rehabilitation helps preserve and promote local history and cultural heritage.
